My biggest fashion crush this season has to be winter pastels! From pink cotton candy jumpers, to parma violet coats, this trend has got me craving sweets! Gracing us with their presence on the Autumn/Winter catwalks this year, it looks like pastels are no longer just for spring! This trend really reminds me of cold winter snowy morning with rosy red cheeks and I can't wait to pair up a comfy lilac over sized jumper with a floral pencil skirt. Will you be wearing pastels this winter or do you think they are just for spring? Bargain Alert: I was in Primark yesterday and they have an array of pastel jumpers for £10! Rose Gold Perfume by Zara! #3
Meet my new favourite
perfume Rose Gold by Zara. I picked this up on a whim when I was in
Zara last, as I didn't want to be wearing my expensive perfumes every
day and at £12.99, it seemed a bargain not to be missed!
Since getting Rose
Gold, I have completely fell head over heels with this scent! Now I'm
not really a rose perfume kind of gal but the rose in this one is
very subtle and reminds me of a deep parma violet smell. Mmm, I love
parma violets! At first, I thought it was going to be summery but
once on the skin, it settles into a deep oriental autumn scent, ideal
for spraying on your scarf and snuggling your face into while you are
out walking about.
Zara describe it as:
“Zara Woman Rose
Gold by Zara is a Oriental Floral fragrance for women.
Zara Woman Rose Gold was launched in 2011. Top notes are
magnolia and green notes; middle note is orange blossom; base notes
are amber and musk.”
I'm pretty much pants
as distinguishing notes in perfumes and I certainly can't smell any
oranges or greenery in it. I do however agree with it being very
oriental and musky. The perfume comes in a super cute rose gold
bottle, with a twist down top, so you aren't accidentally squirting
it all about your handbag.
Talk about longevity,
this smell lasts and lasts.. and lasts! I can still smell it hours
later on my skin and stays on your clothes for days, giving you a
pleasant welcome whiff when you put your scarf on again the next day.
I find this amazing for a scent that cost me £12.99 for 70ml, some
of my expensive perfumes don't even last as long as this.
All in all, I adore
this perfume and highly recommend that you run to your nearest Zara
and give it a sniff. I will be stocking up next time I see it!

Clinique Moisture Surge INTENSE Skin Fortifying Hydrator: The Love Of My Life
So with fall coming up,
I thought it was about time you all met the love of my life, Clinique
Moisture Surge INTENSE. I have acne prone combination skin, which
tends to lean towards the dry side once we get a chill in the air and
I have been using this as my night cream for going on two years now.
This heavy duty moisturiser is like a snuggly comfort blanket for my
skin and is the first moisturiser that has never broke me out and
has really changed my life. NOW, I'm not a dermatologist and I'm not
saying, buy this now, it won't break you out ever, as we all have
different skins and what works for me, might not work for you.
HOWEVER, I have seen many bloggers rave about this moisturiser now, all also claiming that it doesn't break them out. The Clinique lady who recommend
this to me, also told me that they were soon going to be adding this
moisturiser to their acne fighting step programme.
Consistency.... a very
thick, oil-free gel like moisturiser which has a cooling and
comforting feel upon application. This moisturiser does sit on the
skin for a long time and feels like it will never sink in, but when
you awake from your sleepy slumber of a morning, it's all nicely sunk
in and worked it's magic. If you don't like a thick night cream, then this may not be for you, the fiancé has given me a few raised eyebrows at times when I've had it on, so I pile it on at lights out! Even after cleansing my face in the morning
my skin never feels tight, like it's looking for it's next
fix of moisture, my skin really does feel hydrated 24/7.
A little about my
skin... before finding this wonder cream, I had been battling dryness
and acne prone skin for years and always thought that the cure to
getting rid of my acne was using products that would dry out my skin,
get rid of all the oil and my acne would go. I then read an article
stating that overly dry skin can actually cause acne, so I stepped
out of my comfort zone and went for a really thick night cream and
WOW did it work!
Since using this
product, I have gone from constant cystic acne, to one or two odd
blemish during my time of the month, all my old acne scars have
pretty much gone and my skin now glows. Clinique claims that “daily
use helps fortify and repair skin's moisture barrier to keep moisture
in” and I would agree with this 100%. I only get dry patches
once in a blue moon now and have even slathered this bad boy on
during long flights and my skin arrives at it's destination
moisturised and plump. Seeing as this moisturiser is too thick for
during the day, I use the regular Clinique Moisture Surge as my day
cream, which is much lighter (review coming soon). These two together works
amazingly, don't break me out, get rid of all my dry patches and
leave my skin looking healthy. I have tried many other moisturisers,
including others from Clinique and they all break me out, so I would
really recommend giving these two a try if you feel like you are
fighting a losing batlle with your skin. Thank you Clinique for an
amazing product.
Tip: You can pile this on thick and use it as a super
moisturise mask for an added moisture pick me up. Clinique have now
also launched a Moisture Surge Overnight Mask, which I have yet to
try, let me know if any of you have tried it and what you think!

Welcome to my blog! #1
Welcome to my blog
fellow kitties!
I'm Emily, 26,
professional crazy cat lady. I'm new to blogging and slowly getting
to know my way around everything and blimey, is there a lot to learn!
I have been reading other people's blogs for years now and finally
took the courage to take the plunge and make one myself! So here I
am, in my new little home from home and I will be sharing with you
all my thoughts on my obsessions which are makeup, skincare, fashion,
food and of course, cats.
I've had an obsession
with beauty products ever since I can remember, aged 4 stomping about
in my mum's high heels with her Chanel lipstick all over my face.
There is something I just adore about beauty, from the shiny
packages, to the dazzling colours that scream “wear me now!!” and
the luxurious regime of skincare. In other words, I just adore it!
Even on the rainiest days of the year, a pretty lipstick will always
put a bounce in your step.
So with my ever growing
collection of beauty products, I hope to be doing lots of reviews for
you all. I will also be throwing in the odd posts about my life
adventures and my two babies, Madame Tiffany and Sir Syrus, who are
dying to meet you all!
I'd love to hear from
you all, so please don't be shy and feel free to
comment/share/recommend to your hearts content.
